South Africa Diesel Market

South Africa has a sophisticated fuel pricing formula that accounts for the Basic Fuel Price (BFP, linked to international markers), exchange rates, freight, insurance, and taxes. The DMRE announces new pump prices on the first Wednesday of each month. South Africa produces some coal-to-liquids fuel through Sasol, which is blended with imported refined products.

South Africa regulates fuel prices monthly. Petrol 95 (ULP 95) is the standard gasoline grade. Diesel 50ppm (0.05% sulphur) is the main diesel grade. Gauteng (inland) and coastal prices differ slightly.
