Observed benchmark values
Values and timestamps are preserved from the captured response.
| Benchmark | Code | Price (USD) | Returned 24h change | Source timestamp |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WTI Crude Oil | WTI_USD | $82.08 | 3.61% | 2026-07-17T19:21:43Z |
| Brent Crude Oil | BRENT_CRUDE_USD | $87.86 | 4.14% | 2026-07-17T20:26:03Z |
Observed spread
$5.78
Brent minus WTI at the captured observations. Brent was 7.04% above WTI using WTI as the denominator.
Interpretation boundary
Because the two source timestamps are not synchronized, this is an indicative observed spread, not an executable quote or an official settlement relationship.
Methodology
- The two observations were captured from the public OilPriceAPI demo endpoint at the stated capture time.
- The 24-hour percentage changes are the values returned by that endpoint; they were not reconstructed from a separate settlement series.
- The Brent-WTI spread is Brent minus WTI. The premium percentage is that spread divided by WTI, rounded to two decimals.
Limitations
- This is a point-in-time, mid-month snapshot, not a July monthly average or settlement report.
- Source timestamps differ between benchmarks, so the spread is indicative rather than a synchronized tradable quote.
- The report is descriptive, contains no forecast, and is not investment advice.
- Underlying-source use and redistribution rights are governed by the applicable plan and Data Usage Policy.
