Measured demand probe

Is produced-water and disposal capacity data valuable enough to normalize across regulators?

A measured demand probe for produced-water volumes, Class II/UIC permits, injection monitoring, well locations, pressures, and operating status. This is not a live dataset or endpoint.

Who this tests: Produced-water midstream teams, E&P operations, land and environmental teams, lenders, counties, and software vendors monitoring disposal capacity and operating risk.

Demand evidence so far

  • Keywords Everywhere, United States, 2026-09-02: “saltwater disposal wells” 110 estimated searches/month and “class ii injection wells” 70/month.
  • Exa found a paid $49/month Texas disposal-well product and official Texas permit, location, monthly volume, pressure, and test-status sources—evidence of both a buyer workflow and fragmented inputs.
  • The latest production refused-demand ledger contained no attributable produced-water or disposal request, so the search and competitor signals require direct buyer validation.

Smallest useful dataset

  • UIC/disposal permit identity, API number, operator, location, formation, authorized fluid, pressure, and daily volume limits.
  • Monthly injected volume and pressure, filing status, revision time, and explicit reporting gaps.
  • Mechanical-integrity test schedule and result where the regulator publishes it.
  • Produced-water volumes joined only when state identifiers and reporting grain support an auditable match.

Decision contract

Primary metric

Human-reviewed workflow-evidence submissions per 100 consented experiment exposures, with submitted evidence classified as capacity, compliance, transaction, or monitoring work.

Continue when

  • At least five qualified interviews and two recurring workflows that currently require multiple regulator queries or files.
  • One buyer accepts a paid pilot or written design-partner agreement for a narrow Texas or Permian scope.
  • The probe reproduces sampled permit and H-10 values at 95% or better audited accuracy.

Stop or redesign when

  • × Users need engineering interpretation, title data, or real-time field telemetry rather than normalized public records.
  • × The recurring willingness to pay does not cover source maintenance and manual exception review.
